The Reiki Council

Reiki Council Verified Logo The Reiki Council is the lead advisory body for Reiki Practitioners in the UK. Through its member associations they represent the views of people giving Reiki to the public across the four countries of the UK. They are a non profit-making body that sets standards and guidelines and provides information and advice.

The Reiki Council aims to offer a platform for all styles of Usui Reiki and it's guidelines are non style-specific.

The Reiki Association has been a member of The Reiki Council since it began.

The Reiki Association participates in discussions about the regulation of Reiki public practice and was a member of the Reiki Regulatory Working Group (RRWG) which has grown into The Reiki Council.

The RRWG was set up by representatives of a number of Reiki organisations in collaboration with the Prince of Wales’s Foundation for Integrated Health. The RRWG provided a forum for the exchange of views, concerns, standards and best practice with the intention of “speaking with one voice” in working towards Voluntary Self Regulation of Reiki and creation of the single UK Register of Professional Reiki Practitioners.

The minutes of previous meetings of the Reiki Regulatory Working Group can be seen at website:

The Reiki Council, which has grown out of the RRWG, is a non-profit making, unincorporated organisation.

Its objects are to be the lead advisory body for professional Reiki practitioners in the UK, to uphold the freedom to teach and practise individual styles of Reiki and to operate in the spirit of Reiki and according to Reiki principles.
