On Wednesday 30 January, the Connecting Reiki with Medicine programme was included in a presentation by Suzanne Ruggles, CEO of Full Circle Fund Therapies Charity, to the All Party Parliamentary Group for Integrated Health, chaired by David Tredinnick MP, at the House of Commons in London.
The PGIH invited Suzanne Ruggles to give a presentation on Full Circle’s work, built up over 15 years, bringing complementary therapies onto the wards of two large NHS hospitals, St George's in London and also Brighton and Sussex University Hospital.
David Tredinnick MP acknowledged the value of the efforts made by Full Circle and crucially the rigour in design that is the Full Circle model. The whole Group found this presentation to be very informative and positive and look forward to hearing how this project continues to expand and integrate further within the NHS.
Suzanne commented, “What a wonderful platform the PGIH has created and for me, it was lovely to be amongst so many likeminded people with the added benefit of the location and the credibility that it can bring a project such as ours.”
One of the Connecting Reiki with Medicine practitioners at St George's, Anne-Marie Carratu is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Integrated Healthcare which means Reiki is being well-represented at the heart of UK government. The group has collectively worked on and has now published a report entitled 'Integrated Healthcare: Putting the pieces together'. icamhub.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/PGIH-Report-Download.pdf
The Connecting Reiki with Medicine project at St George's needs the support of the Reiki Community. This is a great way to give back to Reiki and secure its future at the heart of healthcare as an integrated therapy and a partner to medicine. Just £25 will treat two patients in critical need including data collection, management and analysis for researh purposes.
